If you are visiting Cozumel and are a scuba diving enthusiast, you naturally will dive at the fantastic Caribbean reef sites, but the region also offers adventurous divers a chance to experience a truly unique diving expedition by exploring the mysterious cenotes. Cenotes are fairly unique flooded caverns that are common on the Yucatan Peninsula. The Yucatan is home to a vast subterranean network of rivers that can be accessed by surface openings usually bordered by limestone. On our Cozumel Cavern Diving adventure will lead participants on a guided tour of one of these phenomenal underground waterways.

As you descend into the Chacmool Cenotes you will witness amazing limestone formations that have existed for millions of years. You can discover stalagmites, stalactites, and even ancient marine fossils. You will be astounded by this mysterious alien environment. Cenotes also often have stratifications of water layers that can create fascinating optical distortions. There is no other place on the planet where you can experience cenote diving.

There is no need for specialized certifications to participate on this dive that descends to a depth of fifty feet. Participants on this tour do not need cave diving certification, only the normal open water certification. Our expert PADI-certified dive masters have extensive experience leading excursions into these wondrous caverns. We will not only supply the necessary scuba diving gear, we will also provide round-trip transportation from Playa Del Carmen into the jungle in an air-conditioned van (people staying on Cozumel can take one of the regular ferries to reach Playa Del Carmen).
