Cozumel Tours and Activities

The picturesque island paradise of Cozumel offers vacationers a natural wonderland to explore. With plenty of remote beaches, teeming coral reefs, splendid nature preserves, and a low tropical jungle interior, this thirty-three-mile- long and nine-mile-wide isle is a popular stopover for cruise ships. Cozumel, sitting just twelve miles off the Yucatan mainland, is accessible for day trips from Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Riviera Maya. Ferries run regularly from Puerto Morales or Playa Del Carmen on the mainland to Cozumel.

Cozumel first gained world-wide attention while being featured by Jacques Cousteau, the internationally famous filmmaker renowned for his undersea documentaries. After learning about the thriving coral reef habitats from U.S. Navy frogmen stationed in the area, Cousteau brought his film crew to Cozumel to show the world the beautiful biodiversity of a thriving portion of the Extensive Meso-American Reef system. As result of Cousteau's visit, scores of scuba diving enthusiasts have flocked to witness the colorful coral formations, tropical fish, and spectrum of marine species that inhabit the waters surrounding Cozumel. Snorkelers also appreciate the many shallow-water reefs full of vibrant activity just off the pristine beaches of the island. Cozumel is home to several fantastic marine preserves, including Chankanaab Park, Palancar Reef, and Faro Celarain Eco Park. In addition to the plentiful water sport activities available on the island, visitors can explore the jungle interior in an off road vehicle, discover remote beaches on horseback, and venture to ancient archaeological ruins.

The deep-water port on the leeward side of the island is home to both the ferry docks as well as the cruise ship docks. Visitors on day-trips to Cozumel can enjoy plenty of shopping, sightseeing, dining, or lounging at a beach club. We offer the complete selection of tours and activities available on the island to entertain you on your visit, so browse through our offerings to plan your ideal day in paradise.
