Playa Uva One Tank Discover Scuba Dive Overview

If you have no experience scuba diving but are interesting in trying this fun aquatic sport, our Discover Scuba program is the perfect activity for you to get your feet wet - and everything else. This introductory resort course allows you to dive in a single day. Our PADI-certified dive instructors are English fluent, patient, and professional. They will first bring you up to speed on all the basics and theory behind scuba diving during a brief morning classroom session. After the introductory session, you will then hit the water, either in a confined space like a pool or in the shallow waters off the pristine sands of Playa Uvas (Uvas Beach).

You will then become familiarized with the use of the breathing apparatus under the watchful supervision of your dive instructor. Then you will learn to maneuver in the water while wearing the scuba gear. Once you are comfortable with the equipment and your instructor thinks you are ready, you will head into deeper waters (up to 15 feet deep) to go scuba diving at a shallow coral reef teeming with aquatic life. You will discover the wondrous aquatic environment off the world-class diving destination of Cozumel. For decades, scuba diving enthusiasts have flocked to this Caribbean island to witness the breathtaking coral reef habitats and the incredible assortment of fascinating aquatic denizens. You can see a spectacular spectrum of tropical fish, including species like blue tangs, sergeant majors, angelfish and more.

After completing this course, if you decide to take a certification course, you can apply a portion of this program towards that goal. This is a great introduction to scuba diving for children ages 10 and up.
