If you are interested in visiting ancient Mayan archaeological sites while on vacation, be sure to see the destination that surpasses them all the world famous Chichen Itza. Chichen Itza stands out as an archaeological site because of the well-preserved nature of the structures. It is also a location that is not overwhelmed by the advance of the jungle vegetation.

Our expert bilingual tour staff will give you a guided tour of Valladolid on the way to Chichen Itza. Valladolid is a colonial Spanish city that is more than four centuries old. Established by Francisco de Montejo in 1545, this town is an excellent place to see colonial architecture such as the Franciscan Convent. You can do some shopping in the beautiful Main Square where you visit the open-air marketplace.

From there the tour will move on to Chichen Itza, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch before touring the archaeological site. You will enjoy a full-guided tour to see one of the Seven New Wonders of the World, the Kukulcan Pyramid. Nicknamed El Castillo, this pyramid is over seventy eight feet tall and is decorated with carvings of the winged serpent god, Kulkulcan, known as Quetzalcoatl in other parts of the region. The pyramid is actually a mix of Toltec and Mayan styles. Chichen Itza is home to numerous other buildings and sites including the Jaguar Throne in the Interior Temple, the Temple of the Warriors, the Great Market, the Great Ball Court, the Temple of the Jaguars, the ancient Sweatbaths, the Platform of the Skulls, the Mayan Nunnery, El Caracol astronomical observatory, the Cenote of Sacrifice, among other great sites with incredible stone figures and wall carvings.

We offer round trip transportation out to Chichen Itza in one of our late-model air-conditioned vehicles (either a car or van, depending on the number of passengers heading to the site that day). Our drivers are English-fluent. All tolls, park fees, fuel costs, insurance, and taxes are included in your rate.
