Join our professional scuba diving guides for some excellent reef snorkeling near Playa Del Carmen. The great thing about the location of this tropical paradise is that it is extremely close to some coral reefs that are bustling with aquatic life. Our PADI-certified dive masters will guide you on an unforgettable one-tank underwater excursion.

What exactly will you see while diving off Playa Del Carmen? There are a vast array of interesting corals and sponges. There are more than 500 different fish species that can be seen inhabiting the reefs of this area. Some of the brilliantly-colored tropical fish that you may see include angelfish, grunts, blue tangs, butterfly fish, damselfish, drums, filefish, parrotfish, scorpion fish, trunk fish, honeycomb cowfish, grouper, snapper, squirrel fish, wrasses, goatfish, trigger fish, blue-spotted cornets, trumpet fish, lizard fish, tile fish, harlequin fish, jacks, and more. Two different kinds of marine turtles, including logger heads, inhabit the waters along the coast of the Mayan Riviera where Playa Del Carmen is located. You may also see majestic rays swimming near the sandy bottoms of this region. At specific times during the year, you may even see a massive whale shark. During late spring and through the summer, these gentle giants of the sea migrate through the region to feed on zooplankton. It is incredible that creatures that can grow to more than 45 feet in length feed on such tiny prey. There are also a variety of eels, including morays, which can be spotted in these waters.
